Introduction

The Sai Baba Chalisa is a devotional composition in praise of Shirdi Sai Baba. Unlike traditional chalisas that follow the doha-chaupai format, this is a narrative-style hymn with 102 verses that describe Sai Baba’s arrival in Shirdi, his miracles, his grace upon devotees, and his teachings of love and equality.

Significance

Reciting the Sai Baba Chalisa bestows peace, happiness, and prosperity upon devotees. Sai Baba is a symbol of the unity of all religions. He preached the message of Shraddha (faith) and Saburi (patience). Reciting this chalisa on Thursdays is considered especially auspicious.

How to Recite

Bathe and wear clean clothes before reciting the Sai Baba Chalisa. Sit before an image or idol of Sai Baba, light a lamp, and offer flowers. Recite with a calm mind and full devotion. It is especially recommended to recite this on Thursdays.
