The Shiv Chalisa is a devotional hymn dedicated to Lord Shiva. It describes the qualities, divine plays, and glory of Lord Shiva. This chalisa is especially recited by devotees on Mondays and during Shivaratri.

Significance

Regular recitation of the Shiv Chalisa invokes the grace of Lord Shiva. It is believed to destroy fear, disease, and suffering. It holds special significance during the month of Shravan (monsoon).

How to Recite

The Shiv Chalisa should be recited in the morning after bathing, with a pure mind. Sit before a Shivalinga, offer bilva leaves and water, and then recite the chalisa.
