A sacred collection of the 108 holy names of Lord Ganesha. Each name reveals a unique quality, form, or divine play of Ganapati. Chanting these names with devotion removes obstacles and bestows wisdom and spiritual accomplishment.
Significance
The recitation of the Ganesha Ashtottara Shatanamavali is a key element of Lord Ganesha's worship. Ganesha is invoked at the beginning of every auspicious occasion, puja, or ritual. With each name, a flower, durva grass, or modaka is traditionally offered.
When to Chant
On Chaturthi tithi, Ganesha Chaturthi, Sankashti Chaturthi, Vinayaka Chaturthi, or at the beginning of any auspicious undertaking. Chanting during the morning or evening hours is considered especially beneficial.
